Art IS Education month presents: Emerging Brilliance and Beauty
Drama, dance and music performances by Fremont high school groups
Fremont,
March 7, 2011
—
As part of the countywide celebration of Art IS Education during national arts education month, the Fremont Unified School District in partnership with the Alameda County Arts Commission present their annual visual-art exhibition of student progression through elementary, middle and high school art programs. The public is welcome to enjoy a free, fun-filled event including an art exhibit, music and dance performances.
The event will take place on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, from 5-9:00 p.m. at the Fremont Unified School District Office located at 4210 Technology Drive in Fremont. The event will be hosted by the Fremont Superintendent James Morris, a representative from Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty's office, and Rachel Osajima, Director of the Alameda County Arts Commission.
Organizers want to share with families the wealth of learning that happens when youth are involved in the arts and to expose parents to the diverse disciplines engaged in robust integrated arts education programs; including digital arts, sculpture, music, arts, and cultural heritage performances. “It’s important for parents to know that the arts are a medium for youth to express what they learn and how they view the world around them” said Susan Manbeian, Event Organizer/Hopkins Junior High Art Specialist “The arts make learning visible”.
