The Alameda County Office of Education hosted Supervisor Nadia Lockyer and community leaders in a Call to Action meeting to identify collaboration and community assets that can help bridge community resources during tough budgetary times. Supervisor Lockyer aims to foster more coordination and collaboration among government agencies, community-based organizations and other groups to maximize resources and partnerships to tackle the serious problem of youth delinquency and violence in Hayward.
 
Over 100 representatives from Hayward community agencies were presented with current violence trends in the Hayward area and were given the opportunity to meet education, safety, and health and human services agencies working to provide alternatives for at-risk youth, prevent delinquency, and minimize gangs and violence.
