The Alameda County Office of Education's mission is to provide, promote, and support leadership and service to ensure the success of every child, in every school, every day!

  • ACOE has fiscal oversight of the county’s 18 school district budgets representing over $1.96 billion (figure represents general fund dollars). 
  • ACOE provides over 500 programs and services to district offices in all aspects of school operations, as well as teachers, administrators, parents, and community-based organizations supporting students in Alameda County.
  • ACOE delivers one-stop human resource/credentialing services to educators. In 2007-2008, ACOE serviced over 12,000 requests.
  • ACOE provides leadership in organizing regional approaches for the delivery of educational programs and support services, eliminating duplication of efforts and saving school district resources.
  • ACOE provides educational services to over 500 students in juvenile detention facilities and four community schools that serve at-risk youth.
